The Munich Oktoberfest (Munich Beerfest) is one of the most famous events and the world's largest fair. Oktoberfest 2017 will be no exception. With some six million people attending every year, it is an important part of Bavarian culture. Think Disneyland for people of adult age. Think must do!

Munich's Oktoberfest began life as a wedding for the Bavarian crown prince Ludwig to princess Therese from Saxony-Hildburghausen (hence the name of the Theresienwiese) on October 12, 1810 and attended by the local community. Today the Munich Beerfest traditionally takes place during the sixteen days up to and including the first Sunday in October with Oktoberfest 2017 starting on Saturday, 17th September until Tuesday the 3rd of October.


OKTOBERFEST FOOD & DRINK:


There will be a selection of vendors offering a variety of hot and cold traditional German food. Behind the bar you will find bier galore but don’t worry for those who feel like slamming down their stein at the thought of another bier the bar is fully stocked with a selection of other drinks.

Our Bierhalle will be filled with the mouth-watering smells of Würstl, Sauerkraut, Pretzel, Spätzle, Schnitzel, Schweinshaxe, Schweinebraten, Steckerlfisch, Knödel, Käsespätzle and much more!

OKTOBERFEST ENTERTAINMENT:


Throughout Oktoberfest the air will be filled with Bavarian sounds aplenty! Our widely regarded Oompah bands will be performing their very own blend of ‘oompop’ across all three sessions. We’re thrilled to have them all perform at Oktoberfest Rotherham.

UNRESERVED SEATING AREA - Entry to Unreserved Seating Area – Head to the bar for your bier, take a pew and soak up the Oktoberfest atmosphere.

RESERVED VIP TABLE FOR 10 - Entry for 10 guests with your own reserved table.

Oktoberfest 2017 will take place on Saturday, September 16th, the Schottenhamel tent is the place to be, if you want to catch the official opening ceremonies. At noon, the Mayor of Munich will have the honor of tapping the first keg of Oktoberfest beer. Once the barrel has been tapped, all visitors will then be allowed to quench their thirst. It pays to arrive early in order to experience the festivities up close and personal and it's quite common for visitors to come around 9 am to secure good seats. The festival will last until October 3rd.
